Sedge Town (カヤツリタウン, Kayatsuri Town) is the town half of PokéPark KANTO. Every pass gets you in, including the Town Pass, and children under 3 enter free. It has a Pokémon Center where Chansey greets you, the Sedge Gym with a daily stage show, the Pokémon Trainers’ Market of merchandise stalls, two paid rides, an outdoor parade around the Primarina Fountain, and five food stands. The busy parts need planning. The Gym show, the Pokémon Playhouse meet-and-greet and the main Pokémon Daisuki Shop each need a free limited-access ticket from the app. The rides need a timed ticket bought at a kiosk.

Greetings: where to meet Pokémon
- Pokémon walking around town. The official FAQ says you can say hello and take photos with Pokémon you meet around the park.
- Pokémon Playhouse. Different Pokémon appear each day, and you can’t choose which. The official lineup lists Clefairy, Vulpix, Psyduck, Growlithe, Slowpoke, Gengar, Lapras and Dragonite. Book a time in the app. One photo per group, with one device.
- Pikachu and Eevee Playroom in Sedge Condominiums. This is for Ace Trainer’s Pass holders only. You register a time slot at the perks desk in the Trainers’ Market, and the photo, in an original frame, is a free gift.
- Parade. Pikachu and Eevee perform around the fountain and Gym Plaza. See shows and parade for times.
Shopping: the Trainers’ Market and the Daisuki Shop
The official merchandise page groups the original goods into sweets, Vee Vee Voyage items, carnival-costume Pikachu and Eevee items, Pokémon Forest and Sedge Town items, and Pokémon fashion. Some rules to know (official FAQ and area rules):
- Entry time: you can only enter the Pokémon Daisuki Shop during the time on your limited-access ticket.
- Purchase limits: some items are limited per person. You show your ticket screen at the register. Every buyer must queue themselves, so a parent can’t buy a child’s limited item for them.
- No online shop and no holds. Staff can’t tell you stock in advance.
- Bags cost extra. Bring a foldable bag.
- Cashless only. Cards (Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Amex, Diners, Discover, UnionPay), IC cards such as Suica and PASMO, and QR payments including Alipay and WeChat Pay. There’s no ATM inside. The nearest is a Seven Bank ATM by Yomiuriland’s Aurora Gate, where you can also top up an IC card with cash.
- Resale buying is banned.
Food: five stands and a drinks counter
Official stands and what they sell (menus change by season):
| Stand | What it sells |
|---|---|
| Pikachu’s Onigiri Shop | Rice balls and fried chicken; the onigiri tray comes in one of five random designs |
| Eevee’s Café | Latte art drinks featuring Eevee and Eeveelutions, cream buns and ice bars |
| Snorlax’s Popcorn | Barbecue and milk caramel popcorn, and a Snorlax popcorn box set |
| Altaria’s Roost Kitchen | Baguette sandwiches, soups and fries |
| Poké Mart | Drinks showing Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle using their moves |
There are also original bottled drinks inspired by the games’ Fresh Water, Soda Pop and Fruits au lait, plus vending machines. No alcohol is sold. Allergy information is on the official food page.
Outside food isn’t allowed, including food bought elsewhere in Yomiuriland. The exceptions are food for small children and for people with dietary restrictions. Tell the staff at entry.
Where to sit. Sedge Town is outdoors. The FAQ says that between the 2nd and 3rd Gym shows, you may be able to enter the gym without a ticket and eat inside. Eating elsewhere in Yomiuriland is the other option.
The two rides
Pika Pika Paradise and Vee Vee Voyage cost ¥1,200 for adults (13+) and ¥800 for children (3–12) per ride. You buy a timed ticket at the mobile ticket kiosk in the Pokémon Trainers’ Market. You can’t book ahead, and tickets can sell out on busy days. Children under 5 must ride with a ticket-holder aged 13 or older. On Pika Pika Paradise everyone wears a safety belt and you can’t hold a child on your lap. Ace Trainer’s Pass holders can use the priority lane once on each ride.
