There is only one place to stay within walking distance of Sanrio Puroland: LINK FOREST, a lodging and training facility about 10 minutes on foot from Tama Center Station that also takes individual guests. The big hotel that used to stand by the station, Keio Plaza Hotel Tama, closed in January 2023, and its site is being rebuilt as shops and apartments rather than a hotel. So for most visitors the real choice is between LINK FOREST, a Sanrio-themed room in Hachioji, a hotel in Tachikawa on the direct monorail, or simply staying in Shinjuku.
Many English-language “hotels near Puroland” lists still show Keio Plaza Hotel Tama. It is closed. Keio Corporation announced in November 2023 that the building would be replaced by a complex of shops and condominiums, planned to open in fiscal 2028.

LINK FOREST: the only walkable option
LINK FOREST is a lodging and training facility run by KDDI Learning. Its official site says individual guests are welcome for private stays as well as business trips.
What the official site lists (as of October 2026):
- 183 rooms, opened in April 2020; even singles are 25 m², with separate bath and toilet
- Room types include singles, twins, deluxe singles and two universal rooms (accessible rooms with handrails in the bathroom; ask in advance)
- Single from ¥10,450 per person (tax included); prices change with booking date
- Check-in 15:00, check-out 10:00
- All rooms non-smoking; free Wi-Fi throughout
- Meals: breakfast and/or dinner only as part of the room plan, booked at reservation (changes up to 3 days before). No lunch
- Children under elementary-school age who share a bed are not counted as guests (one child per bed; not on the sofa bed in compact twins)
- Parking for guests only, first come, first served
- Tokyo accommodation tax applies at ¥10,000 or more per person per night
Getting there: about 10 minutes on foot from the Keio Tama Center central gate or the Odakyu Tama Center west gate, and 8 minutes from the monorail station. The official access page warns that Google Maps’ walking route sends you round to the car park gate. Follow the step-by-step directions on the official site instead, via Cocolia and the post office.
Good to know: this is a training facility, not a resort hotel. Expect a calm, practical stay rather than Sanrio decoration or a lobby restaurant open to walk-ins.
Check rates on the LINK FOREST accommodation page.
Keio Plaza Hotel Hachioji: Sanrio character rooms

Sanrio Puroland lists Keio Plaza Hotel Hachioji as its official hotel. It is about 3 minutes on foot from Keio Hachioji (京王八王子) Station and in front of JR Hachioji Station (north exit).
The hotel’s official site describes Sanrio character rooms themed on Hello Kitty, My Melody & Kuromi and Little Twin Stars (the Little Twin Stars rooms were added in March 2026). It also lists Sanrio photo spots and an original hotel cake. Character rooms are limited in number, so book early for weekends.
Getting to Puroland: take the Keio Line from Keio Hachioji to Takahata-fudo, then the Tama Monorail to Tama Center (12 minutes, IC fare ¥316 as of October 2026). Check the Keio timetable for the first leg.
See room plans on the Keio Plaza Hotel Hachioji official site.
Tachikawa: the direct monorail base

Tachikawa is a large station with many hotels. The Tama Monorail runs from Tachikawa-Kita to Tama Center in 23 minutes without a change (IC fare ¥408, as of October 2026). Puroland’s official list includes these Tachikawa hotels:
- Hotel Nikko Tachikawa Tokyo (8 min on foot from JR Tachikawa)
- SORANO HOTEL (8 min)
- Hotel Emisia Tokyo Tachikawa (3 min)
- Tachikawa Regent Hotel (2 min)
- Toyoko Inn Tachikawa-eki Kitaguchi (6 min)
- Business Hotel Ozawaya (2 min)
Tachikawa also suits travellers arriving on the JR Chuo Line or heading on to the mountains west of Tokyo.
Hashimoto and the Keio Line
Tama Center is on the Keio Sagamihara Line, which runs through to Hashimoto. Puroland’s official list includes Hashimoto Park Hotel (5 min from JR Hashimoto), Toyoko Inn Keio-sen Hashimoto-eki Kitaguchi and APA Hotel Sagamihara Hashimoto-eki Higashi. For more Keio Line bases, including Fuchu, see where to stay along the Keio Line.
Or stay in Shinjuku
For most first-time visitors to Tokyo, a hotel in Shinjuku is the easiest choice. Keio Limited Express trains toward Hashimoto reach Keio Tama Center in about 30 minutes, and the rest of your trip stays central. See Shinjuku hotels with a direct train to Puroland.

Check-out day tips
- Puroland’s 3rd-floor lockers take a suitcase in the large size (¥1,000, cashless only, same day only, as of October 2026). If lockers are full, the information counter keeps bags for ¥1,000 each.
- Re-entry is allowed with a hand stamp, so you can check out at 10:00, store luggage and still enjoy a full day.
Prices and hours change. Check the official site before you go.
