Sanrio Puroland is one of the easier Tokyo theme parks to do with small children. It is fully indoors, compact, and has a renovated Baby Center with a feeding kitchen and private nursing rooms. Children aged 2 and under get in free. The catches are a stroller restriction on the 1st and 2nd floors on busy days, no stroller or baby-carrier rental inside the park, and very few hotels within walking distance.
Here is what to know before you go, based on Puroland’s official guidance as of October 2026.

| Strollers | Not allowed on 1F and 2F on weekends, holidays and weekdays with an 18:00 closing |

Strollers: the rule that catches families out
Puroland is a four-storey indoor building. On weekends, public holidays, and weekdays when the park closes at 18:00, strollers cannot be used on the 1st and 2nd floors. On those days, plan to park the stroller and carry younger children.
When you do use a stroller:
- Move between floors by elevator only. Escalators and stairs are off-limits for strollers.
- Strollers cannot go into the Baby Center; leave it in the stroller parking area first.
- Fold it at stroller parking. Puroland is not responsible for loss or theft there.
- There is no baby carrier rental, so bring a carrier if your child still needs one.
We could not find a stroller rental service listed on Puroland’s official site. If you need to borrow one in the area, Cocolia Tama Center (the mall by the station) lists stroller lending among its facilities. Check availability there on the day.
Getting to the door with a stroller: Puroland’s access page recommends the pedestrian promenade from Tama Center Station (多摩センター駅) for strollers and wheelchairs. There is a wheelchair slope to the left of the steps at the promenade entrance, and the park entrance is on the 3rd floor.
The Baby Center (1F)
The Baby Center reopened after renovation on 1 October 2024. The official site lists:
- Baby supplies vending machine
- Diaper-changing tables, including one for toddlers who can stand
- Baby food space and a dedicated kitchen for preparing formula and baby food (hot water provided)
- Crawling space
- 1 family nursing room and 4 private women-only nursing rooms
Changing tables are also in women’s restrooms, some men’s restrooms and multipurpose toilets. A children’s toilet is in the women’s restroom next to Discovery Theater, and child seats are provided in each restroom.
Age and height limits on attractions
Most attractions have no age limit, with these exceptions (as of October 2026):
| Attraction | Rule |
|---|---|
| Entertainment Hall (Fuwafuwa Kids Land) | For children up to elementary-school age |
| CHALLENGE PURO | Ages 3–15; paid participation ticket |
| Discovery Theater | Height restriction; see the official rules |
Children under elementary-school age must be accompanied by a guardian of junior-high age or older on attractions.
Food for children
- No packed lunches or outside food, except for guests with dietary restrictions. They may bring their own food into in-park restaurants (Yakata Restaurant may charge for a drink).
- The Character Food Court (1F) sells a low-allergen children’s curry.
- Allergen information for main menu items is posted at each restaurant. Kitchens are shared, so cross-contact is possible.
- Puroland’s official food page has a children’s food feature.
For eating outside the park, see where to eat near Sanrio Puroland.
Lockers and luggage
Puroland’s 3rd-floor lockers are cashless (IC cards, QR payments and contactless cards; no cash) and same-day only:
| Size | Price | Fits |
|---|---|---|
| Small | ¥300 | Day bag |
| Medium | ¥700 | Cabin-size carry-on |
| Large | ¥1,000 | Standard suitcase |
If lockers are full or you can only pay cash, the 3rd-floor information counter keeps bags for ¥1,000 per item.
Pregnant visitors
Show your maternal and child health handbook at the 3rd-floor information counter to receive a Puroland maternity sticker, which lets staff offer support. See the official maternity page for details.
Accessibility
Guests who find long queues difficult because of a disability can use the Heartful Service, with priority entry at selected attractions. Show an official disability certificate at the ticket counter or 3F information counter. Wheelchair users have a free, first-come wheelchair parade area and priority entry to many attractions. There is a multipurpose toilet on every floor.
Where to stay with kids
Keio Plaza Hotel Tama closed in 2023.
Tama Center has very few places to stay. For families, the realistic options are:
| Option | Why families like it | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| LINK FOREST (Tama Center) | 10 min walk to the station; rooms from 25 m²; twin rooms; children under elementary-school age sharing a bed are not counted | It’s a training facility. Meals only via room plans; no lunch |
| Keio Plaza Hotel Hachioji | Puroland’s official hotel, with Hello Kitty, My Melody & Kuromi and Little Twin Stars rooms | Train plus monorail to Tama Center; character rooms are limited |
| Tachikawa (立川) hotels | Direct Tama Monorail, 23 min, no change | Longer ride back with tired children |
| Shinjuku (新宿) hotels | About 30 min by Keio Limited Express; easiest for the rest of your trip | Busy trains at rush hour |

A family-friendly plan
- Book ahead: buy passports and a visit reservation. The official e-passport includes the reservation; see our tickets guide. Official passports: Sanrio Puroland passport page.
- Check the calendar: hours vary by day, and the stroller rule depends on the day and closing time.
- Arrive with a carrier if your child is under three, especially on weekends.
- Take a break outside: use the re-entry stamp and head to Tama Central Park’s playground, about 5 minutes from the station.
- Keep it short: for toddlers, a half-day visit is often enough.
