“Tama Center Station” is really three stations next to each other: Keio Tama Center (Keio Sagamihara Line), Odakyu Tama Center (Odakyu Tama Line) and Tama-Center on the Tama Monorail. Puroland is about a 5-minute walk from any of them. Keio passengers should leave by the Central gate and Odakyu passengers by the West gate, then go straight ahead toward the park.

Here’s what each station has, where to find lockers and elevators, and which line to use for where you’re going next.

Keio Tama Center

This is the station most visitors use, since the Keio Line runs from Shinjuku.

  • Platforms are on the 3rd floor. Platforms 1–2 are for Hashimoto. Platforms 3–4 are for Chofu and Shinjuku.
  • There are two gates: Central (中央口) and East (東口). For Puroland, Puroland’s official directions say to use the Central gate.
  • The station map shows elevators between the platforms, the concourse and the ground. Coin lockers, a parcel-receiving locker, an accessible toilet and an ATM are also marked.
  • Buses and taxis are at the plaza on the Odakyu station side (1F).

From Shinjuku the adult fare is ¥360 (ticket) / ¥356 (IC card), as of October 2026. Puroland gives the ride as about 30 minutes by limited express. Keio’s FAQ also lists Keio Tama Center as a stop for airport limousine buses to both Haneda and Narita.

Odakyu Tama Center

  • On the Odakyu Tama Line, between Odakyu Nagayama (小田急永山) and the terminus at Karakida.
  • From Shinjuku you usually change at Shin-Yurigaoka. Puroland lists about 12 minutes from Shin-Yurigaoka to Odakyu Tama Center.
  • Odakyu’s station page lists coin lockers, elevators and escalators, a baby care room, a shop or convenience store, restaurants, a waiting room, a police box, and bus and taxi stands.
  • For Puroland, Puroland’s official directions say to leave by the West gate (西口).

Tama-Center (Tama Monorail)

The monorail’s southern terminus. It’s the way to Tama Zoo and to Takahatafudo, where you can change to the Keio Line for Seiseki Sakuragaoka (聖蹟桜ヶ丘).

Tama-Dobutsukoen (Tama Zoo)8 min
Takahatafudo (change for Keio Line / Seiseki Sakuragaoka)12 min
Tachikawa-Kita (立川北, for JR Tachikawa)23 min
  • Elevators run from street level to the deck, from the deck to the gates, and from the gates to platforms 1 and 2.
  • Coin lockers are outside the ticket gates.
  • The staffed counter is open from first to last train. There’s an accessible toilet and an AED next to the gates.

A day trip by monorail is covered in Tama Zoo by monorail.

Walking to Puroland

Puroland’s official directions, summarized:

  1. Leave by the Keio Central gate or the Odakyu West gate, and turn left.
  2. Walk straight ahead from the station.
  3. At the crossroads past Okanoue Plaza, turn left.
  4. Puroland comes into view. Keep going straight.

With a stroller or wheelchair, Puroland recommends the pedestrian walkway (遊歩道) from the station. It leads straight to the entrance, which is on Puroland’s 3rd floor. There’s a wheelchair ramp to the left of the stairs at the start of the walkway.

Keio and GO TOKYO both give the walk as about 5 minutes.

If you’re going to Puroland anyway, its own lockers are the easiest choice. Station lockers are better if you’re heading somewhere else first, such as Parthenon Tama or the shops on Parthenon-dori. More luggage options are in Travel prep for a Tama trip.

Around the station

  • Cocolia Tama Center (shopping mall): GO TOKYO lists it as 3 minutes on foot.
  • Parthenon Tama (cultural center and museum): Tama City lists it as 5 minutes on foot from all three stations.
  • Places to eat are covered in Where to Eat Near Sanrio Puroland.

Common mix-ups

  • “Tama Center” vs “Keio Tama Center” vs “Odakyu Tama Center”: these are different station names on route planners, but they are all the same place on the ground.
  • Getting on the wrong Keio train from Shinjuku: only trains on the Sagamihara Line (for example, bound for Hashimoto) stop here. Trains for Takao (高尾) or Keio Hachioji (京王八王子) don’t. If you’re on one, change at Chofu.
  • Tama Zoo is not in Tama City: it’s in neighboring Hino, reached by the monorail.
